Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 August 2026
Ace Player is a video player. It does not host, provide, or supply any media content. You bring your own playlist from a provider you already subscribe to, and the app plays it. This policy explains exactly what information the app handles, what stays on your device, and the small amount that is sent to us.

1. Information that never leaves your device

Your playlist details, including the portal URL, username and password for your IPTV provider, are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never transmitted to us and we have no way to read them.

The same applies to your favourites, watch history, downloaded programme guide data, and your chosen theme. All of it is local. Uninstalling the app removes it.

When you play a channel or a title, the app connects directly from your device to your provider's servers. That traffic does not pass through us.

2. Information the app sends to us

To operate the beta programme and premium unlocks, the app sends a small amount of technical information to our own server:

WhatWhy
Anonymous install identifier
A random ID generated on your device
To recognise the installation across sessions, so a premium unlock stays applied and can be managed
Device model and manufacturer To reproduce and fix device-specific playback problems
Android version and app version To know which builds are affected by a bug
Time spent in the app
A total in seconds
To understand overall usage during the beta
Error reports
Error message and the name of the channel or title involved
To detect broken streams and playback faults without relying on manual reports
Unlock status
Whether premium is active and which code was used
To apply and manage premium access

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or any account credentials. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.

3. Third-party services

Your IPTV provider

The app connects to whichever provider you configure. That provider will see your IP address and what you request from them, and their own privacy policy applies. We are not affiliated with any provider.

The Movie Database (TMDB)

The app fetches artwork and information about popular titles from TMDB to build the home screen. These requests do not include your identity or your playlist. TMDB may record the request and IP address under its own privacy policy.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Hosting

The information described in section 2 is stored on servers operated by Railway on our behalf. It acts as a data processor and does not use the data for its own purposes.

4. How long we keep it

Device records and error reports are retained while the beta programme is running, and deleted when it ends or when you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first. Error reports older than 90 days are removed routinely.

5. Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including access, correction and erasure. Contact us and we will honour those requests.

6. Children

Ace Player is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

7. Security

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit. Playlist credentials never reach our server at all. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small.

8. Open-source components

Ace Player includes FFmpeg audio decoders, used under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1. Source code and build scripts for the version used are available on request. Other components are used under the Apache License 2.0.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes will be announced in the app.
